An angiogram is a diagnostic test used to examine blood vessels and identify any blockages or narrowing. During the procedure, a special dye is injected through a thin tube (catheter) into an artery—usually in the arm or groin. X-ray images are then taken to clearly show blood flow and detect any issues in the heart or other organs.
Angioplasty is a procedure used to open blocked or narrowed arteries and restore normal blood flow to the heart. During the procedure, a thin tube called a catheter is inserted into the artery, usually through the wrist or groin. A small balloon at the tip of the catheter is inflated at the blockage site to widen the artery and improve blood flow.
